Noisy World EP is the first official release from Oniric Cat, a project that began to take shape between 2017 and 2018 during his studies in music production. The EP was recorded entirely at SAE Institute, the place where Oniric Cat studied Audio Engineering and Music Production and where he began to define his artistic identity.

Collaborators at SAE Institute Barcelona

During his time at SAE, Oniric Cat found the perfect environment to experiment with electronic textures, atmospheric rhythms, and advanced production techniques. The school's recording studios and equipment allowed this first EP to achieve a solid and professional sound quality.

The process was also a close collaboration with classmates who contributed their talent and vision to the project.

Laura Masip – Responsible for the mixing and mastering, bringing a polished technical perspective that elevated the final sound of the EP.

Daniel Hernández – Guest musician who recorded bass and guitar, adding organic layers and melodies that enrich the electronic character of the project.

Photography – A world in motion

The photographs accompanying the Noisy World EP were taken in the heart of Barcelona, where Oniric Cat poses calmly while a crowd blurs around him. These images visually represent the contrast between inner silence and the constant noise of the urban world. The photography is by Jorge Jaico, who captured the conceptual essence of the project through compositions that blend serenity and chaos, reinforcing the EP's introspective aesthetic.

The Sound of Noisy World

The EP defines the first outline of Oniric Cat's characteristic style: immersive atmospheres, progressive structures and a sound aesthetic that combines the introspective with the rhythmic.

The project's central concept revolves around the noise of the city and the search for silence as a return home, an emotional and sensory refuge amidst the daily chaos. This theme is especially reflected in the EP's title track, which features a grunge sound reinterpreted in an electronic style.

The title Noisy World comes from a quote by Steve Jobs, sampled in the title track. The snippet is edited to sound like it's about a profound philosophical topic, when in reality it comes from a talk he gave about marketing. The contrast between the original context and the reinterpretation on the EP adds a conceptual layer that questions perception, meaning, and information overload in the modern world.

In addition, in the songs Lift and Hello?, Oniric Cat incorporates his flute, adding an organic and melodic timbre that contrasts with the EP's electronic textures and brings a more intimate and personal layer to the work.

This is a work that reflects research, experimentation, and the first pieces of an artistic identity that would continue to evolve.
