The album Oniric Cat, released in 2020, represents the producer and DJ's second official work and marks a key moment in the evolution of his sound. Unlike his debut EP Noisy World, this album embraces a completely electronic aesthetic, diverse in genres and imbued with experimental intent.
This album was released before Oniric Cat had an official logo, so its name appears written using the artist's personal calligraphy, the same one he had already used on Noisy World. This time, however, the visual identity adopts an aesthetic inspired by drops of mercury, with chrome reflections and a futuristic tone.
The aesthetic reference comes from the album Discovery by Daft Punk, one of the artist's favorite albums and a direct influence on both his visual and sonic approach.
This work also marked a milestone in the physical format within the project, as it was released in a limited run of 150 copies on CD, which are currently completely sold out.
On Oniric Cat, the producer made a conscious decision: not to include his flute on any track of the album. This instrument, which is part of his live performances and appears in previous works, was left aside to explore the essence of electronic music without limitations.
The result is an eclectic album that travels through different genres, intensities, and textures, always maintaining an emotional and atmospheric common thread.
Music Videos
For Chasing Clouds, dancer McFlyart stars in the video, interpreting the song through movement. The video was filmed and directed by Xhufflis, who also collaborated on the album cover design. In the video, McFlyart's figure appears superimposed upon itself, multiplied in layers that shift smoothly while bubbles float around him. The result conveys the lightness, fluidity, and ethereal feel that characterize the song.
In the case of Internal Alchemy, illustrator Marc Anguera created a visual work based on what the music evoked in him. The music video consists of a time-lapse of the artist drawing a human figure in deconstruction in front of a mirror, revealing internal gears and symbolic mechanisms. This handcrafted animation accompanies the song from an introspective and metaphorical perspective, reinforcing its emotional and conceptual dimensions.
